Benefits of Heritage Conservation by Admin1

Restoring heritage buildings for business and residential re-use is a viable idea. The terms "restoration" and "re-use" may in fact be displacing "preservation" in the discussion about conservation today. The Ministery of Parks, Culture and Sport recently published a brochure expressing the benefits of conserving heritage properties. Prokop House for Sale by Admin1

The Prokop family is selling their historic home, located east of Saskatoon, SK. This was the Gordon Farmhouse from Cupar, SK. It was built in 1916. The house was designed by David Brown, of the Montreal architectural firm of Brown and Vallance, which designed many of the early buildings on the University of Saskatchewan Campus. Notice of Annual Meeting by Admin1

The Annual Meeting of the Architectural Heritage Society of Saskatchewan will occur at 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Society's office in Regina, which is located on the second floor of Brownstone Plaza, Suite 202, 1275 Broad Street. This annual meeting was to be held in March but was postponed.

The Architectural Heritage Society's annual general meeting, which was to be held at the Canalta Inn in Tisdale at 9:00 am, Saturday, March 23, 2013 has been postponed due the weather and travel concerns. The meeting will be rescheduled as soon as is possible. ahsk
