Mayors Attend Annual Meeting of Society by ahsk.ca
The year 2012 marks the 25th anniversary of the Architectural Heritage Society of Saskatchewan (AHSS), and its president, Al Gill, told the mayors of Battleford and North Battleford Saturday it is working to improve support to municipal governments and property owners in conserving Saskatchewan’s architectural heritage. Heritage Foundation Grants by ahsk.ca
Two local museums are thanking the Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation, which recently announced its 2011-2012 fiscal year grants. A total of $298,951 was approved and allocated to 45 initiatives across Saskatchewan. This funding was provided to projects for conservation, research, education and one special project. 3D Model Saskatchewan Collection Grows by ahsk.ca
3D Model Saskatchewan project volunteers have now created and posted on Google Earth more than 600 heritage properties in communities across the province. The Architectural Heritage Society got involved with the project becase it makes possible another opportunity for people to be exposed to Saskatchewan's rich built heritage. Anyone interested in modelling buildings or providing photos for creation of models may contact the project coordinator at AvocetGeo@gmail.com. The growing collection of buildings may be viewed at the 3D Model Saskatchewan site on Google Earth.

Conviction for Pathetic Act by ahsk.ca
Joey Michael Yates, who was involved in setting fire to the historic grain elevator in Fleming, Saskatchewan two years ago, has been sentenced to serve two years less a day and ordered to pay $30,000. Two other men are still before the courts. The elevator was built in 1895 and had just been restored by local residents for use as an interpretive centre. Source: CBC News Saskatchewan

Society's Annual General Meeting by ahsk.ca
The Annual General Meeting of the Architectural Heritage Society of Saskatchewan will be held in North Battleford this year, on Saturday, March 31. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting at 10:00 a.m. Location is the Gold Eagle Lodge, 12004 Railway Avenue East. Anyone may attend. Members may vote on resolutions.
